Pending title SAVE POINT follows a 'Video-Game theme' and revolves around a reclusive and regretful man named Jan, traumatized by his broken past, is given the opportunity to manipulate events in his past through an old video game console – an object that allowing him to time travel to the exact point in which things had begun to fall apart for him.

Rants: Worst Travelling Experience Ever.

Words of wisdom from my beloved thesismate.

Today was quite a bit of a disastrous adventure. What starts off as a pretty productive morning (paying bills, writing letters, getting over the mayhem of 'light packing', moving out furniture, etc) results in a pretty disastrous afternoon at the airport. For some inexplicable reason, I had mistakenly (and stupidly) read my itinerary wrong and thought my flight to Davao to be at 5pm in the afternoon. In my head, plans had already been made: lunch with Gayle at whenever, leave Taft at 3pm. Chill stuff, basically.

Thank God something propelled me to recheck my itinerary and lo and behold, the greatest shock of my life: my flight suddenly set at 3:30pm today. And that's cool, okay. Perfect timing anyway. Managed to get my shit together. So I was well pressed on my way, it was 1pm and the traffic was heavy set just outside the airport which was fine. I'm at Terminal 3. Suddenly, after going through lines, Caucasian people cutting through said lines and dragging around my luggage, I'm told how Philippine Airlines was in Terminal 2 and that I was in the wrong terminal. Second greatest shock of my life. Clock was ticking. Flight's still set at 3:30, and it was 1:30 when I was given the bad news. I run out, grab the first cab I see and meet extremely heavy traffic. By now, all concept of 'chilling out' has completely flown out along with the airplanes, and I am contemplating the level of my stupidity (give it a lvl 76, yeah?).

Midway in traffic, I check my metre. Third greatest shock of my life: My bill was almost at 400. And I am pondering this discrepancy because traffic or no, I was not on my way to Alabang or Tagaytay. It was friggin Terminal 3 to Terminal 2. And even if I was, it never shot up this high. By now, I am having an internal meltdown with nothing but my thesismate to text during my meltdown point. I am pondering the mystery of how to pay my cab fare, whilst not panicking about the time and such and such. I gave part of my salary.

Despite all this, God still loves me because they haven't closed the gates yet and I was the last one in before they did. Bad news was, my seat was literally all the way in the back of the plane -- which is not good because that's where you really feel everything -- engines, back-of-the-plane stuff, paranoia (like if the plane cuts in half mid-air, the tail usually has no chance of surviving), etc -- but hey, we have to make do.

Our flight was delayed for 2hours. 1 hour was spent waiting out, the other spent inside the plane, being flayed alive (because they turned off the aircon whilst fixing whatever luggage problem it was they were dealing with). A mother had two kids behind me, and while the kids were good, the mom was constantly screaming in my ear just so she could talk to her kids. It was a nightmare. And my paranoia shooting up to overwork mode. Because yes, if the plane met an accident and did split into half, I would definitely not survive. The last stupid thing I ever did today was ask the stewardess for coffee, thinking that I needed it, loved it or whatever idiotic notion that was going through my head in that moment (but yes, I hate coffee and most of the time I dont need it). Anyway, the coffee was terrible and stale and whatthefuckwasIdoingdrinkit.

At long last, I finally arrive in Davao and the last annoying thing ever was the one-hour wait for the luggage. By now, I am numb as fuck and barely care anymore.

But now, I am able to breathe and extremely happy to be here in Davao City. Throughout all this mayhem, what has kept afloat and insane is George R.R. Martin's, Clash of Kings, conversations about Aizen, main antagonist of Bleach with ze thesismate, and my iTouch tunes.

I'd like to take this opportunity to say just how amazingly brilliant this book is. If I didnt have other necessities, I wouldn't put it down because it is that good. And oh, how I wish to talk to someone about it! I can't because Season 2 is out April and I don't want to spoil. It is that good. To say how excited I am for April is the biggest understatement ever. Whatever praise I give it now won't do it any justice because it is... that good. Haha! resistingtheurgetospoil.

At home, I am greeted with the most surprising treats! Lights, a Christmas tree and even a beautifully-lit manger(?!) -- basic wondrous things I love but don't have in Taft. Oh and my beloved dog.

It feels good to be home. I swear I can't contain my happiness being here. My smile is just unending. Probably why my sleep is restless.

Oh last thing! I'd like everyone to meet my travel partner slash eternal cuddle-buddy, a Christmas gift from a close friend who thought of giving me a cuddle-buddy of sorts. Without him, surely I would've gone mad with everything that happened today.

Another Christmas treat: Limited Edition Star Wars Moleskin Notebook. ohmygod. I am so excited to doodle and sketch again with this! Yes, I am quite the chipper girl this Christmas. What started off as bad somehow managed to result in good funk. I love it. I am happy.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and an ostentatious, happy New Year from waaaaaaay down south. Always remember, no matter the struggle, good things are just around, waiting to be discovered. Never take anything for granted!

In life, there are many instances when you have template proclamations that you want to express to the world. Things like, "I'm friends with a celebrity and I have a photo with her, ble!" or "I'm going to get married!" or "Friends, I'm in Vegas!" and "I just won the lottery!" Things like that. Today is a day I finally get to say one template proclamation that's been yearning to be let out of my book.

This week brings forth several music videos releases done by young and talented people, friends of mine all packed up with their amazing and raw talent. Acting, singing, directing, even prod. managing, galing. And here it goes, here it goes -- YES, MY FRIEND HAS A BAND AND SHE IS AMAZING IN IT!!! --

One of my dreams in life involve actually seeing Mad Hatter Day aka. the lead singer, Mewa Cawad live (and yes, people. She has an official fans club, isn't that just funky?) Of course, with that along with all my other friends in bands such Vinnie and the Hello Kitties, and Monica Bautista, such and such. Never been the gig-girl though I love music, one of these days, I'd like to take the time to just watch my friends take a whole new role on the stage. I'm so proud of my friends for making such a fine music video, ready for actual airing! And for my favorite song too! Hope you were spellbound, inspired and dumbfounded by the lyrics of the song, the energy seen in the music video, the overlying message and the talent found all over this music video.

(WATCH FIRST BEFORE READING ENTRY)

I awake to a morning of gloomy, beautiful rain, peacefully sleeping roommates and a new music video to showcase to my daily visitors. If you all remember my Fun Ranch post full of On-Thin-Ice BTS photos, well finally, I present to you the final output with its overall story and message.

Sakit noh? Hehe.

Its funny, how this simple 2minute music video could perfectly depict my emotions and what has been going through my head for the past week. Don't mind me if I let myself attach to it for a wee bit and let myself do a little spill which I've been holding back and feigning wonderfully so for a full week now.

No matter how hard we fight it, and no matter how hard we distract ourselves on a 24/7 basis, the little tidbits of reality have an exceptional way of still finding their way into our minds. Moments before we sleep, in our dreams, random strikes, such and such. We spend most of our energy trying to quell these forbidden and painful thoughts, emotions that we fight to keep dead, truths we'd like to stay hidden. Time and time again, over the course of the week, over bouts of laughter and distracted fun, I have been reminded that it was all a lovely front. A 'fake it till you make it' motto I am exceptionally doing so well. But no, I am not okay, and yes, I have not forgotten. And yes, I still dream of taking back that one day. And yes, I still worry. Though now, showing it would be rather pointless.

Up until last night, it was only when I realized that its not just me fighting this internal battle, and facing this struggle. And it's all wonderful how we all pretend so well just to get us through the day. We engage in as many superfluous conversations, and laugh way too much, just to show everybody that nothing could break through our walls, and that no matter what the pain within, the smile can still shine; the laughter could still ring out. But we never know what goes on in anyone's mind really. They could say one thing, but could think the other and we never really know the private most recesses of anyone's mind.

For me, I'm just happy that the other half has found his soul along the way, that things have worked out exceptionally for him and will continue working out to be so. Good job, you. :) I worry less and focus more on my own struggles and myself.

Apologies for the somewhat emotional post, but this is filed under the 'Contemplations' section. Plus, the music video was powerful enough in its simple message to get me to start this spill.

If you see the bubbles, yes, that was us. And if you're going through something relateable, or anything at all really, please turn to your friends, your video games, your music, your arts, your family, your talents and whatever else you have to rise above it. Take it day by day, and never forget to smile. This is something you can conquer, and something you can deny publicly. It is going to be okay. Learn how to love yourself along the way and maybe things will be okay. Eventually, things will be. The fight never ends, and the daily struggles and regrets will never stop coming no matter how much we defend ourselves from them -- and well that's the reality we have to accept and live by. Good luck to you, and always remember that happiness is a choice. If an oppurtunity arrives, take it and let it in. Do not regress yourself further back into the box you have created for yourself.

And yeah, never stop smiling. Open up to happiness.

Bonifacio Global City. The new and improved BGC with its new outlook for its residents and visitors. One of the best places to shoot for a music video depicting all sorts of happiness. And so, this entry.

A major class project brings WAY BIG PRODUCTIONS right to this perfect bubble of happylandia to make a music video for Marco Nigro of As Himself, self-composer of electronic music that provide just the exact amount of invigorating chill to your senses. Below is the final music video I have seen my friends work hard on, lose sleep for and almost go ballistic for. I am so proud of their work, and absolutely delighted that I was a part of this production in whatever little way I was of help.

On Set of No Other Woman.

Another photo-heavy post. You have been warned.

If you all remember the phenomenon of 'No Other Woman' no more than a month ago, surely you'll have remembered the scene where Anne Curtis, clad in her Preview cover shoot 24/7 getup, phenomenally screaming out with conviction to her girlfriends at a bar about how "the man you were in love with was unfortunately married!"

Epic-ly dramatic, what is.

Anyone else noticed how lovely the bar seemed to be with all the purple lights that seemed to coincidentally match her outfit? Well because the bar scene was epic, one of us somehow managed to find the exact location of the bar scene and hosted a birthday bash for herself: Robot Restaurant & Lounge located along Makati Ave, just right beside Manila Peninsula.

Overall experience: Surprisingly wonderful. I'm not into clubs like 7th High and such anymore because they're either always so cramped to dance in, full of smoke with terrible beats screeching your ears all night. Robot, on the other hand, is very chill and spacious; with a lot of on-call servers and waiters, magical drinks that don't get you drunk (the Lady Gaga drink is one of a kind!) and amazing music from hot DJs that literally keep you dancing all night long. A refreshing change, I've never enjoyed dancing in a club this much and by God, how I have missed it -- dancing and everything that comes with it; and getting drunk was not even a thought tonight despite the 4 Lady Gaga drinks I had. amazing party.

That is Nadine Baligod. Imbibing a very Anne Curtis getup from set to ensemble, she met the hour of birthday with a bang. Another night with TEAMFAB, and after missing the Wish Lantern event and basically having a most depressing week, I'd have to say this is one of the better nights in awhile.

Happy birthday to my dearest loves, Nadine Baligod and Totie Martinez. Life with you guys has simply coloured mine. I hope this new year in your lives brings good fortune and happiness to you both and everyone around you. Can't wait till the next get-together!

Contemplations: The Peter Pan Syndrome.

Let me take this opportunity to become a bit more personal. In the dead of the night, I'd like to record a few sentimental thoughts for the heck of just creating a cathartic experience for myself. Today has been one of those days filled with simple struggles, like smiling, or laughing. The need to write hasn't been as powerful as it is now. So here we go.

For weeks now, I have unlikely been caught in the spectacle of watching a deteriorating relationship unfold. When loving someone has become a burden, how do you set yourself free? Or the bigger question, can you even? I have no words of comfort. I can only watch as worlds crumble around me. It's like I am a mere child watching her parents fight and burn before her eyes; different characters and elements, same scenario.

I realize that outside of my world, others are struggling in their own battles, lost in their own confusion, trying to understand the meaning of the word love, trying to make sense of the path they've stumbled upon. The light at the end of the tunnel seems so far-fetched. I see the strength of holding on, the struggling to keep a straight face, the high road that is so difficult to thread on.

And then, Peter Pan enters my mind.

Ever since I could remember, I have always and vehemently disagreed with Wendy's decision to grow up. Peter clearly loved her. He gave her everything she could possibly wish for. Although he never asked her to stay, it's a given that she remain by his side, away from the world she knew, forever in Neverland. But then, she decided to grow up and the chances of them ever being together are gone straight to point nil. I hated that. She was an idiot, and I didn't get it.

Now, I do.

Suddenly, it all just came to me that Wendy just suddenly understood that it was all an illusion -- that while yes, he could give her everything she wished for, he could not -- and would not -- give her the one thing she truly asked for. It was simple really, so simple that words need not be said. She only asked that he be by her side, no matter the repercussions. And that she suddenly knew (from some unexpected intuition within her) that this wish would never be granted and that somehow, even if she openly loved him since day one, she knew deep within her that she didn't deserve someone who wouldn't move his world for her; that if she stayed forever by his side, no benefits to her whatsoever, she would lose herself and the potential of all she could be. And when that moment would happen, what then? Would she still love him as much as she first did when his shadow flew in her bedroom? If she gave and gave with the guarantee that he would never really let her in? She would not allow herself to be stuck somewhere safe and familiar, she had to know what was out there, she had to find out what was more. It didn't mean that she loved Peter any less -- in fact, he truly was the One for her and she would always keep that in her heart. But how could she stay for someone who wouldn't change for her -- who wouldn't move Neverland to where she was? He would drag her there, yes. But never leave it. Neverland was his to move and do whatever with it. But he would not dare leave it, this shelter he's honed for ages now -- even for her. She deserved something more than just being stuck with a boy who never wanted to grow up. And in that turning point and at age 14, she understood that.

That's what growing up is all about, I suppose.

Right now, we're all struggling to grow up, to face the real world ahead of us. It's more than what people let on -- it's more than just inserting the word maturity in the sentence. This entails us to leave the things we've held so dearly to our lives for so long. How could we? And where do we even begin with? Perhaps, I'm going a little over-analytical with this Peter-Wendy dissection, but with the recent events, this is simply my conclusion -- a literary reference of sorts that everyone can seemingly all relate to.

We all have our fears of a future unknown. We all don't want to leave our comfort zones. But what if... what if the moment was worth it? We will never know till the end really. Honestly, it's really difficult, all of this. And I wonder how my parents managed it, how my mother was able to do it and how my friends have that strength within them to just let go.

Although I understand things now, it doesn't mean I accept them -- that I'm into doing them. Honestly, I'd rather not. I'd rather remain impatient, immature, whiny, selfish and spoiled. But in the long run, where would that leave me? Searching for happiness isn't as lovely as Hollywood movies make it seem to be. They always show how they make the turning point 'mature' decisions. They never show the process of how people go through them. Is there room for mistakes and failure? Or is it a picture perfect life after such turning point risk-taking decision?

I'm scared that someday I will lose my ability to laugh. And when that happens, what then?

Too much thoughts. But well, this is the 'Contemplations' corner. These days, I think of home often, of my mother and how much I miss her; of Tokyo and the solemnity of that urban city. I want to travel. I want get out of this hell-hole. I want to fly away for awhile. I miss home.

I'm tired and I have forgotten the conclusion of this entire blog. But well, to whoever reads this, I'm sure you'll get it. Think about the things that you deserve, think about your individuality, and do not be afraid of it.

Eventually, things will be okay.

Eyes drooping. Off too bed now. If you read this from start to finish, I salute you. Wow.

So what better way to re-open a blog if not by a photoshoot?

In such a short span of time, readers are slowly returning to view this little cyber-world of mine and I am just overwhelmed by everyone's support. Thank you all for visiting this blog of mine, and hopefully in due time, I will be capable enough to return the favor to all of you in the form of lovely treats! Although this is still quite a personal blog, I figure why not add on a few more twists in order to engage my readers further? I'd rather not reveal the specifics as of now, so keep on looking in PROJECTRIKA when you've got the spare time.

So far, this has been my most daring shoot in my history of shoots. And that although I am not standing over the edge of a cliff, I am still almost half-naked on top of a rooftop. And no. I have never ever done anything like that. A bit frightening at first. But when eventually, you gotta learn to be comfortable in your own skin. Moral lesson of the day to everyone.

Dare to go further?

I intend for November to be a huge rebirth of yours truly. I'd like to thank my dearest friend Lucky Calip for the amazing and most enthusiastic help. Happy -- LIKE A BOSS!

The Magical World of Fun Ranch.

So, I was shifting through mounds of photo files yesterday and ended up stumbling across this set. Got fondly reminiscent and thought, why not retell the story of this one magical day of mine. Another photo-heavy post but I'm sure most would not mind the images over the words.

Anyway, if you're wondering where the carousel came from, how I managed to stumble on one and why I look like such a giddy idiot while on it, well allow me to welcome you to Fun Ranch, Tiendesitas, a kid's complex filled with kiddy rides, activities and establishments made just for children! We were there specifically to help out on the On Thin Ice shoot (music video + renewed ending) for our amazing best-director-to-be friend, Kit de Silva.

Brief background: On Thin Ice is a thesis short film revolving around central themes such as ice skating and failed dreams; starring Verniece Enciso and James Reid; a film done by Kit de Silva, Patricia Baun and Angelli Cornilla under the Communication Arts Department of De La Salle University - Manila. The film had finished and was done being defended but the makers were scheduled to do public screening sometime this year and were advised to join this short film in one of the film festivals at the end of this year; hence, the re-shooting of a new ending and the add-on of a music video. Because the actors of this film already have fan-base garnered, word of this short film spread fast and inevitably became eagerly anticipated by those outside of the Lasallian community. And speaking of public screenings, I'd definitely love to see that through, actually. I missed the defense of all of my friends' films because of an unexpected trip and I really, really want to have an opportunity to watch this film for myself.

During the shoot for the film proper itself, I was not able to participate in helping out for the shoots due to certain matters regarding my own thesis. But even if it's a small portion, I'm glad I was still able to get the chance to help out. Right, and because I wasn't there during the first shoots of this film, this day at Fun Ranch would be the first time I'd lay my eyes on both the two starring figures of this film.

And although I had thought that I would not freak out when I saw them (I mean I barely knew anything about them, except the fact that they were A-listers in the social scene today), throughout the day, I couldn't help but slowly be thunderstruck by the perfection of their faces. I mean, wow. It's was like, what was I even doing there. By dinner time, I've realized how much of an idiot when sitting next to James Reid and how I seriously have no idea what goes on in Filipino mainstream television anymore.

Seriously? James Reid won PBB? Like. 2 years ago. Wow. And he has an Australian accent. Not British. Double wow. See. We learn new things everyday.

Ohmygod, I am the biggest idiot in the whole wide world.

Anyway, this whole experience was fun nevertheless. The actors seemed like good people, quiet and private people who kept to themselves and followed their director without question. The volunteers for this shoot (me, Maita, Megann and Diane) had a blast blowing bubbles with bubble sabers to create a romantic set (I swear, I'd have mastered the art of bubble making now, PhD here I come!), riding all the rides available as extras, playing around like children and simply, just offering the support that Kit needed. Right now, I'd like to put in good word to this friend of mine who has rendered me speechless from time to time and who has humbled me by her presence without question: Kit de Silva: I marvel at her strength and abilities and that day and motivation to keep going on for dreams. I remember this day as a day my respect for her grew to new heights -- that I would do anything for this girl and give my life if she asked me to (whatisdrama). Seriously, she is the rare kind whose beautiful, kindred soul has unexpectedly touched me in more ways than one. And I know with her drive for life, she will go far in attaining her dreams. I cannot wait to see that day arrive.

One last thing I'd like to put in:

Creating such romantic sets and seeing such wonderful chemistry between the actors made me realize how much I yearned to find someone who could continuously inspire me, protect me and care for me when need be; that I wanted to be in love again and find just exactly what the true meaning of love really is. With myself, I've still got a lot to build on. And that perhaps this dream of mine, this overpowering yearning will still be too far stretched from now. A part of me -- the part that is immature and impatient -- is scared that I'll never find what I am scribbling about now, that my dreams will not come true, that life will pass me by. But the other part, the one hidden deep within me kind of doesn't really mind how long I must wait. If it's worth it... why not? And if I could use that time waiting to grow and heal myself, I'll take it any day.

Funny how a shoot such as this has inspired me such heavy-leaden life realizations. Gawd.

Over the years, this iconic Guy Fawkes mask has grown to become a potent symbol inspiring change; reshaping ideologies of struggling collective individuals across the world, specifically in the Western hemisphere. History claims that this symbol's origins date back to as far as 1605, November the 5th, to an actual Guy Fawkes or Guido Fawkes and the failed Gunpowder Plot, an assassination attempt against King James I of England -- all of which resulted to his and his comrades capture and unorthodox, brutal execution.

Infamous by its romanticized film, V for Vendetta and its comic book counterpart, this masked symbol, in all its glorified meaning has somehow breached through fictitious realms and into this very own reality. Guy Fawkes as a mere historical figure has now been changed dramatically over the course in time. The idea that his symbol holds has been used to serve any political purpose for civilians to use whenever they should dare wish to rise above and speak to their government, such as applied by protesters active in the Occupy Wall Street Movement - a recent series of ongoing protests in New York City led by lobbyists and financial service sectors. Wondrous how such ideals traced back to a historical point have moved the modern people to rise up and fight for their rights.

In this time and age, I would like to attest that we too have our freedom fighter of sorts; a unique man that has intrigued me since the day I first discovered his existence: Julian Assuange, founder and editor-in-chief and director of the infamous non-profit organization renowned for their stunning publications of thousands of classified government documents all around the world, WikiLeaks. After years of unending issuing of private information to a global public, Assange now struggles with his fight to appeal for extradition against the Swedish government. Despite alleged scandals made against him, in my mind, he still remains to be one of the greatest spearheads in making us see the value and vitality of information provided by responsible media-people to a massive-scale audience.

"It is not an ultimate freedom, however free speech is what regulates government and regulates law. That is why in the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights says that Congress is to make no such law abridging the freedom of the press. It is to take the rights of the press outside the rights of the law because those rights are superior to the law because in fact they create the law. Every constitution, every bit of legislation is derived from the flow of information. Similarly, every government is elected as a result of people understanding things." -- Julian Assange, on the limitations of "freedom-of-speech"

Just a little piece of my mind about the world and what this day means to people such as Assange, his site contributors and basically, to people out there fighting for something outside of themselves. I've been reading random entries of WikiLeaks for hours now. Try it. The archives vault is simply astounding. Pick a country and get the most classified dish you could ever give yourself to care about. My tribute to this dedicated and fearless organization is all the more heightened on this ostentatious day of reckoning. Thought I'd put word on it if I could.

Point of which I'm getting to: Worldwide, the fifth of November now holds more meaning than just a commemoration for a failed revolutionist (or rather, terrorist who wanted to blow up the House of Parliament with set comrades back in the day), and the film with which sparked such bold shifts in ideology and demeanor. Because of this world phenomenon, this should inspire anyone (with or without any political struggle) to head towards change for the betterment in one's own life, in other's lives and if possible, the world outside of them. Today is about rising above one's on fears for good, combating life's daily struggles and the garish strict norms imposed on us by society and political spheres around us. So today, find ways to fix your daily struggles, do away with your fears, stand up for what you believe in, be more aware speak your mind. Do whatever it takes and fight for what you think is right.

Today is just about the commemoration of a historical figure, nor a fictitious character nor even the modern figure which we have in our living day. Rather, today should be about how one is capable in his own little way to challenge his current state of being and rise above it, aware but unafraid. The mentioned infamous figures are there to inspire; they should be more than enough for any individual to apply the ideologies they wanted to embark in what little way we can in our own daily lives.

If it's worth it, fight for it.

Well, that's a handful enough for today. I know I've done my part living the very ideals of what this day truly means. Question is: have you?

And that is not me. Haha. But I thought it'd get your attention.

August 2011. A random dinner conversation leads to a trip to paradise and unforgettable reunion of sorts. At certain points in my daily activities these days, I still think about this 3-day trip in Cebu and how amazingly wondrous and short-lived it was. Surprisingly, Cebu took my breath away at first sight. I think I fell in love with this city in the little time I stayed there.

With our very Monica Villarica as our personal tourguide, we made it through the city unscathed. Purpose of this trip: to watch a ballet (wherein Monica would star as the Green Fairy) and to unwind in a completely new place.

A few memorable places people should go-to when in that area: Zubuchon, internationally-acclaimed restaurant that serves roasted pig in the traditional way of Cebuanos -- and what's more, no sauce needed to enjoy the taste! There's also Ayala Center Cebu, and if you love Greenbelt and it's greenery spaciousness and walkways, Ayala Cebu is an enormous step from Manila. To say "pleasant" is an understatement of sorts because I remember being overwhelmed when I first stepped through that place. And yes, I died in Fully Booked. If you want to experience some sun-loving fun, be sure to visit Maribago Bluewater Beach Resort and let the waters take your breath away, the sun kiss your skin and the resorts facility to give you the best accommodations you could ever ask for. The photos in this blog contain mostly images taken in that beach resort paradise.

Other places you should check out are: Taboan Market, because the girls wanted some danggit and other dried fishery (at the cheapest prices) to bring back home; The Walk, a hip and chill place for restaurants, desserts and drinks and tiange shopping; and the SkyAdventure and Edge-Coaster at the Crown Regency (though plans to go on this were cancelled because of the waiting time and we went to a hidden Korean cafe of sorts instead on our last night). Also, try out Book Cafe Maru, a Korean book-cafe along Cuenco St., and Crossroads, a district filled with restaurants, clubs, KTV and bars!

The following are just a few recommends for a first-time Cebu visitor. Our accommodations were cared for by Mon, and I swear, every morning, it felt like I was living an episode of The O.C. Breakfast with a soft breeze infiltrating and rejuvenating your senses, served buffet style and quiet morning conversations with friends. That's how chill it was.

TEAMFAB: we were bound together by our passions in dance, and individual empowerment; drifted away by real life encounters. It is in these moments when we are finally together again that life because a whole lot more beautiful. This trip was amazing and I can't wait till the next trip together! To the people who missed their flights and who got sick last minute, please...don't.

Let's attack a Southeast Asian country next!

The morning of November the First springs me out of bed, in front of my laptop and strangely, back here.

It has almost been a year since my last post, and I've had almost a year's worth of travels, discoveries, drama and happenstances with still no idea where my soul might be, and the strange, sudden surge to write again -- profusely and truthfully.

I am not quite sure what the content of my first post after almost a year should be, but let me just scribble away nevertheless. I awoke today, on the first of November, hopeful and inspired; strange, because of the ordeal I put myself through in the past couple days; strange, because this is just so random. For months on end, I have struggled to break through my fears and my traumas. They're still here, no matter what I do. I figure they will always be. And I desperately seek for freedom from these chains I've been unconsciously bound to for so long. I'm tired of hiding in a shell and bound by a box, it depresses me and reeks the potential of who I could be. I'd like to take as much risks when I'm young, without fear and without any returns on my word. I'd like to travel, to learn more about myself and the world, to discover new places and meet new people, to find love and happiness, to live the glorious days of my youth to the fullest. Taking risks is just a baby step to achieving of all that I have just enlisted.

Fear will always grip us. It's how we overcome it and bypass it that makes any moment worth going for. And I intend to get over it.

I found someone who made me realize all of this, who makes me want to try; and try even harder to face my traumas head on to kick them in the ass. And while I have no idea how all this happened, if it really is all due to him or my own self, I find it strange and remarkable, how people find their way into our lives, without any warnings or signs, and leave their mark so well. I owe it to that someone for this unexpected inspiration, this sudden reawakening. And everything is so surreal. Perhaps that's the beauty of it all.

Over the months, I've changed to be someone I'm not quite sure who is. Am I more mature now, or have I just slumped back to simply another immature version of my past self? I haven't a clue. Yet. Well, for now, I shan't think about it too much. Come what may, la-di-da.

I doubt this will still serve to be a fashion blog of sorts, but my constant travels, random findings and learnings will continue to fill the pages of this online outlet. It's comfort to start writing again, especially here in this old blog of mine. I might as well post my year's worth of travels and activities till the new ones arrive. Here's to a wonderful return to cyberspace.

My hot chocolate's getting cold. My cough is getting worse. Strange. Oh, if this is the life of a second-hand smoker... please stop smoking, people! It's bad for me! Not you! Haha. Random outbursts.

Ola, freaks. It's been 6 months. Hello. How's life.

...So why do I look like a giddy idiot beaming as if all my dreams just came true?

Okay, so all my life (at least, ever since I saw "Titanic"), I've always dreamed of going on a luxurious cruise - that pristine first-class boat with all the luxurious bling-bling here and there, on top of the vast, blue ocean sailing smoothly through its shores -- that whole package. Yeah. I've been dreaming of that One-Day moment on a fancy boat for quite awhile now.

OH! And it finally happens on Christmas Day! Like. This Year. 2010. OMG. Yipee! Just here at the Tokyo Bay, one full circle, from 11:50 till 2-ish, eat-all-you-can buffet and whatnot care of the Symphony Tokyo Bay Cruise. It ain't Titanic, but it sure as hell is Japanese, which therefore is assurance in itself that the cruise would be anyone's finest dining ever. I mean, hello, it's Japanese. Anyway, with the Symphony Cruise, you can get married there, host a grand party, have lunch, they've got the whole package, whatever your luxurious preferences may be. Anyone who's in Tokyo should try cruising there if they've got the time.

Okay, so the dream right? While my family was living the life, I, on the other hand, was nearly dying from sea sickness and extreme nausea. Because the boat was moving (and I could really feel it moving), I felt like there was this non-stop earthquake and my head was just spinning and I felt like I was drunk without even taking anything yet!!! Oh, and the moment I'd look out the window, and see the huge blue waves (very pretty waves too), I just wanted to PASS OUT AT THE SIGHT!!!! OMG!!! All this completely pissed me off because this was like my dream right? To ride the luxury boat and all? And it was totally not working out the way I expected it too!!!

The food was excellent. Majorly helped with the nausea. Though I had to like sing 'At Last' to myself 10zillion times till I got over the sickness. Oh, one comment on the cruise food though: it would've been nicer if they kept serving heaps and heaps of food. Haha. Like in buffets in 5-star hotels. It was like, if a dish was out, there wouldn't be any replenishments anymore. Oh well.

The ship deck was awesome as well. Although it was like 3 degrees up there, and the wind was ridiculously crazy, awesome nonetheless. Strange though, when up there, my sea sickness seemed to have dissipated into thin air. Then when I'd return inside, in rolled the nausea again. Weird.

Anyway, bajillion photos below. I probably should get a Flickr for my photo storage but that would require major effort on my part, like clicking "Set An Account" and then inputting a bunch of my personal information, etc. Kinda hassle. So yeaah. Next time, whenever. Plus my photos are not as good as everyone else's. Boo-hoo. It's been awhile since I've shot and edited seriously, so excuse my inconsistencies and randomness. Anyway, cruise ship experience, y'all should go try it soon!!! But if anyone is getting married on a boat, uh, count me out. Please, if you don't want a huge yucky mess on your wedding day. Haha.

I don't always visit this district because I don't really belong here, but I love it all the same.

You see so many random things boys love and go ga-ga over, it's all so interesting!

Like they go crazy over the cutest weird things! And I wanna know why! HAHA.

When I return, I will seriously devote one full day to just hanging around there and getting the ropes around things (like what's the latest anime everyone's into, what game everyone's going gaga over, what computer parts need to be fixed, oh and ofcourse, so I can buy cheap camera parts, and the list goes on and on).

My purpose for going to Akihabara that Sunday though was so that I could visit the Neko Jalala Cat Cafe. But it was kinda cramped with people so I couldn't see the kitties.

I had no phone, no way to contact my brother or dad, no idea where to go... and then, BOOM.

A little surprise greets me.

Cafe Euro. A French-Style cafe. Your table is positioned to watch people as they pass by while delighting on delectable funky ice cream. Cute.

I thought it was the perfect place made just for me.

People kept on looking though. I've never had so many people turn to look at me as I watched them walk on. Maybe they found me, this foreigner in a French-ish cafe, watching them? I have no idea. But all the same, I've found my spot in the Land of the Geeks and I am ever more the happy chipper.

Let me introduce to you all: a true-to-the-heart Japanese 'Lady GaGa'.

I was in Omotesando, exploring and shooting around and about until I was frozen in my tracks when I witnessed the most random thing in the whole entire world: A Japanese girl all dressed up in the most out-of-the-world costume ever and her photographer friend having a quick-and-run photoshoot as soon as the traffic lights turned red!

It was amazing!

So. I thought. I need to capture the moment too! HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh! And no one crossing cared about what was going on, they just glanced and continued to walk on their merry way. I was the only one so entranced by this outrageous, amazing, random scene!

I love Tokyo.

and I super desperately wanted a photo with her. I almost approached her. But I felt so shy. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Plus I know they know I was photographing them as they were doing their own thing. So. Crap.

Ex.2: Panning shots along Ropponggi, Meiji-Jingumae (Harajuku) and Nishi-Kasai Park.

Under Master Htella's tutelage, I think I have been able to come with some decent shots compared to the ones I submitted in class.

The first photo is one of the many mistakes I made while practicing (but this one looked cool anyone, hence I added it). Master gave me the tips but apparently, I was still doing it wrong. It finally just clicked to me randomly and then, BOOM. Hello, panning shots that are acceptable for viewing. Lol.

This technique is addicting to do since there are a whole lot of funky bikers in this city.

Their bikes come in all shapes and sizes, colors and design! Really amazing!

Everybody loves to either walk or bike here. Even I want to bike! And have someone take a panning shot of me in a bike. I had a dream that I was riding an orange bike in a lovely yellow summer dress and I can't get it out of my mind because it's something I really want to do. Lol.

Oh. And the photos of the 2 British girls riding a scooter are obviously wrong but I just had to include because while taking the photo, the clear girl in the photo was screaming out, "Oh, look. Someone's taking our photo! Smile because someone is taking our photo!" in a total British accent. It was funny.

I hope to actually make at least one adequate, concrete photo using this technique sometime soon. May it be here in Tokyo or somewhere else around the world.

This was at a housewarming party of my mother's officemate a couple of weeks ago. There, I had the chance to meet the most adorable babies ever!

One of them, Rhionna (girl with orange stuck on her mouth above) was really sweet tugging me around the new house and it was the first time I was ever meeting her! I loved shooting Reiko (girl with the most photos in this post) because she is so at ease with the camera and the camera loves her. Absolute perfection. I hope my photos did justice to her. If not, I can't wait to make up for it and shoot her again! And Sam (girl in red with the funky smile) could be the next photographer in their generation. I didn't get a chance to bond with the boy though because he was in his own world running around and going mad with the doorbell. Lol.

The kids liked my new monkey chain and pondered over it for a while. It was so cute. They went a little berserk towards mid-afternoon, but they were still adorable nonetheless.

Hope I get to see these kids again!

Dear World.

Yesterday, I was the most happiest girl in the entire universe because I visited a cat cafe for the first time EVER.

Thanks to Jane Alridge of seaofshoes.com, I found out about such a thing! My God. All my life, I've lived here in this city and this is the first time I'm hearing about this? I've so much to explore, so much yet to discover about this city! Oh, and apparently, they're all over the place! So all of these were the cats from the Chamamo Cat Room, Harajuku and next week I'm off to Calico Cat Cafe in Shinjuku. Uber excited for that visit!

WHAT IS A CAT CAFE:

A heartwarming cafe where you can chill out with cats as you sip your drink. There you can relax with a quiet atmosphere as you mingle with the "cat staff". What else is amazing about such a place is how one can find an amiable, common ground with strangers -- yes, even if there is a language barrier. There are plush, comfy, funky chairs and couches around, but still, it is such an open space that allows no barriers between you and the other guests.

Only 1000 yen for an hour of such heaven (extensions are allowed, of course), it is truly worth it.

I am such a foreigner in this city that sometimes, it can cut me off from everything else -- especially since I'm not so good with the language and I'm naturally a shy and guarded person. But when I was in there, Japanese women were trying to talk to me (albeit in Japanese and yes, I could understand a little of what they were saying), smiling at me and gazed and cooed at me in awe as my favorite Chamamo staff, Ru-Tsu, suddenly laid his paw on my shoulder. It was really such a welcoming experience.

HOUSE RULES:

1. Wash your hands and disinfect with alcohol before you enter.

2. You are allowed to take photos, however FLASH is not allowed. Understandably so.

3. NO holding/carrying of cats.

4. NO feeding of the cats. NO offering them of your caffeinated drinks. Again, common sense.

5. NO brash behavior, respect the cats (e.g. if a cat is asleep, don't be a bitch and wake them up, etc).

Simple rules, awesome experience.

If you're in Tokyo for the first time, you have got to experience Tokyo's many cat cafes. They're absolutely beyond amazing. It is now part of one of the many reasons why I am in love with this beautiful, random city.

WELCOME TO ZOO-ASIA.

SOWEWENTTOTHEZOOANDIWASSOHAPPY.

We came in a tad bit late in the afternoon and thank goodness the park wasn't so huge or else we wouldn't have been able to see all the animals! As you can see from the photos above, the park consisted with a lot of exotic birds and monkeys -- funky creatures, those monkeys are by the way. So funky were they, that I ended up buying a new lovely creature of a keychain.

But oh, I was so ecstatic about the tiger. It was absolutely beautiful! There were like 4 of them, just chillin' and I wanted to be like Princess Jasmine in that moment and own one too! Someday... Bummer that I couldn't get a close-up because tigers are naturally dangerous hence the magnanimous distance between creature and audience. Grr.

There was a polar bear in the area but... it wanted to hide in it's cave instead of show itself. I did get a glimpse of it though, like teeny-bit. And no, unfortunately, there weren't any pandas in the park. I therefore intend to find another zoo where the pandas are.

Honestly though, I kind of felt bad that the animals were locked up behind bars -- mostly the monkeys and the birds. The tigers, lions and other big animals had their own acre of land to run around in. So it was kind of unfair and I felt a bit depressed about the whole thing. But they just had to be behind bars for safety purposes. And besides... imagine if there weren't any bars to keep us apart? The monkeys would go pick on our hair and bite our necks.

All in all, this was a really happy day for me. I was like prancing around the park with huge grin on my face -- like an idiot child who just won an Emmy. Or something.

Mother dearest doesn't get why I am so into these creatures -- she's more of a botanical expert, you see. Vice versa, I'm not so into the whole plant thing, though I appreciate their own beauty. And I just have to tell you that the reason I am so in love with all these animals is because they are so funky. Like no other. They're so out-of-this-world, just look at my photos. Beautiful, all of them. It's like, we're so caught up with our own human world that we completely don't notice that there are other creatures living amongst us.

NOTICE THEM. AND CARE ABOUT THEM. STOP GOING TO AFRICA TO SHOOT THEM DOWN FOR YOUR WALLS OR FOR YOUR VANITY.

ANIMAL WELFARE, COME ON, YO!

I Left the World Just So I Could Say Goodbye to You.

We went up the mountain to see Buddha.

On our way there, we had to pass through the tunnel under the sea and stop by this port in the middle of sea. I loved the color of the sea that day and the way the wind blew.

To get to Buddha, cable-riding was required. This terrified me quite so because I am not so fond of heights, nor am I fond of unstable things that can go way high up (elevators, airplanes, cables - the whole lot). However, the view was calming and I found it odd how my heart wasn't pounding so much that I would be on the brink of near hyperventilation, nor my overactive mind at work.

Miracle? Or maybe I'm one step closer to conquering my fears?

The road to Buddha up in the mountains was no easy feat either. Rock paths and 10million steps of stone stairs, it is a miracle that my mother was able to go through all that back and forth.

Meanwhile, I was in my world, thinking I was like Snow White, going through such a deep and dark forest and that I had to be careful with each step I took. Everything was full of life -- you could really see and feel that. It was breathtaking, despite the slight eerie-ness and quiet.

All in all, Buddha was an experience. I looked up at him, took his photo and silently prayed I'd get through everything that comes to me, and that I could finally leave the past behind completely. If I be resilient enough, I think I could achieve what I want.

Get over, say goodbye, leave, never look back.

It's a whole new world up there, like you'll never know.

My silhouette shots suck, I was trying to test it out. I only realized what exactly I wanted to do with it after the sun went down. Grr.

The Ever Living Ghost of What Once Was.

FRIDAY. According to my itinerary, this day was set to be "SHOPPING DAY IN HARAJUKU, TAKESHITA ST." I knew the things that I wanted to get, it was all set. Then my mother calls from the office saying to go instead to high-end Ginza because a new branch of Forever21 just opened. Like, the day before.

And then, boom.

I think you know how this will end.

OHMYGOD.

OKAY. IT WAS SO AMAZING THERE, I THINK I DIED A VERY HAPPY DEATH. I COULDN'T GET OVER IT. IT WAS 10 TIMES BIGGER AND BETTER THAN THE BRANCH IN HARAJUKU, OKAY. The interior designs for each floor (there are 5 floors by the way, one dedicated to all things ACCESSORIES -- OHMYGOD--) were all distinct from one another, catering to a particular theme; the non-stop of indie rock and house music was so awesome, I almost asked a random saleslady for the playlist; the clothes were amazing; there was no long line needed upon entering; everything was so beautiful and sparkly and DID I MENTION THERE WAS AN ENTIRE FLOOR DEDICATED TO ALL THINGS ACCESSORIES?!?!

So this branch is in Ginza, attached to this luxurious department store, Matsuzakaya (meaning the whole 5 floors is just connected this bigger major store). But even so, it didn't seem like it. Forever21 had it's own world -- totally disconnected from what it was attached to. It just seemed so funkily random. I super loved it.

It was the Grand Opening. And oh, how grande it was! I am bereft of all words. I wish you all had been there to see it. You'd probably cry at such splendor and wonder.

Oh, and this is my first time trying out the "denim on denim" fad. Hope I did it right. It didn't feel weird though, so I think it worked! Haaha!

Never Been Out in Daylight.

THURSDAY. It had been raining all week long and so going out was simply an impossible task. Thursday, finally the sun comes out, high and bright, and so I am ever more the happy chipper.

We went up to Odaiba during the afternoon. I realize I have never actually been there when the sun is up. If you go back to my previous posts, you'd notice my trips to Odaiba are always at night. I've never really seen the sights when the lights of the Rainbow Bridge are not lit up and it still looks effin' amazing! The weather was beautiful, wind blowing and all and I look like an idiot in the photos because the sun was way too high up and I didn't have shades.

The upcoming Golden Week brings in the biggest sales in the world, though I didn't purchase anything today (I know, hard to believe but yeah). 10million couples still frolicked around that day.... God, I swear, if I get a boyfriend here, I am so bringing him there. Like, it is a requirement that he go with me and we date there. It's absolutely beautiful there and I totally get why it's such a hotspot for the couples. So much so that I feel ashamed to be walking around single. It is so hard to blend in like that.

Sigh. Blah.

After Odaiba, we went back to Tokyo to check out Maruzen, this hugeass bookstore in Tokyo Station (which btw does NOT look like a station, it looks more like a high-end corporate building with intricate architectural designs and just --- seriously? It does not look like a station, shame I left my camera in the car and couldn't take photos).

In the lobby, there was a French cafe and a mini classical concert playing just beyond.

We did it the French way that time (albeit it was indoors); ate panini's and sipped coffee with our tables facing the outside as we watched and listened to the amazing violinist playing classical tunes.

Talk about first class much.

Just yesterday. A morning trip to the byoin leaves me stranded in Ginza, happily strolling around with a McFlurry in hand. A step closer to recovery? I certainly hope so!

Sunday, I was ecstatic about finally visiting Harajuku and entering the gates of H&M and Forever21. One of my best friends told me about this Rose Jacket from the H&M Garden Collection, told me to get it and well... who am I to resist such a beauty? I did find another funky jacket and I let my brother choose (I know, but who else was there during such a dilemma?) and he picked out this Rose Jacket! Watcha think? Yay or nay? It was the only thing I got, surprisingly!

I don't know about you, but I'm totally loving it. However, my eyes are a bit confused. Is it really red or is it really orange?

My brother says, "red" but I keep saying, "orange". Colorblindness, I hope that's not it. :|

It was late afternoon so it was getting kinda cold, hence the slight coverup all around and the simplicity of the entire outfit -- but I guess that's the whole point: Something extravagant over casual-ism. The shoot was fun, I realize I kinda love how my brother can instantly look dramatic the moment I scream out, "Look down and look sad!"

I so need to shop some more. I realize I have nothing to wear and that I look so chaka, God help me. I've been finding a lot of lovely florals and colours along Takeshita St. I can't wait to visit again to buy more clothes and funky stuff! And somehow, Mickey Mouse is all over the place! Like I-don't-need-to-go-to-Disneyland-to-see-Mickey. Soo many stores selling Mickey vintage shirts! What? Is it Mickey Mouse season this pre-Golden Week?

Saturday, Sakura City, Chiba for The Tulip Festival.

The maddening downpour had been running all week, so everything was muddy and splotchy when we got there. Saturday, and the weather was torn between wanting to be sunny or cloudy and the lighting was extremely annoying because of the fickle shifts of moods. In the end, the weather finally decided what it wanted it to be for the next 2 hours and woah, with the heavy downpour yet again, only for me to realize that it was not rain pouring but HAIL. It was HAIL-ing, canyoubelievethat.

I was torn between awe and annoyance at the sight. Awe because, well I mean, it's not everyday I get to experience hail -- and it looked kinda cool. Annoyance because, mygod, it's friggin APRIL and there is HAIL. What is up with the weather seriously. What's next? Snow in May?! Can we please have some actual spring sometime soon, please? I'm actually tired of the winter, the cold and the depression of it all, I WANT SOME LOVELY WEATHER AND SOME COLOR IN MY LIFE. Lol.

However despite this, I did end up seeing so many colors take form before me and taking absolute delight in it all. And can I just say how organized the colors of the tulips were arranged? "Beautiful" is seriously an understatement and I'm not even sure my photos did any of it justification. I really like seeing organized displays of color arrangement -- reminds me of a crayon/oil pastel box, which I have this crazy fixation on. It's soo... beautifully fixed. Blah.

It's amazing how such sights can instantly lighten a sickening condition and mind and gah, I am so ready for the spring. Goodbye for awhile to my blacks and greys and hello to all the colors ever made!

Oh, and btw, the photo of the lady in pink taking of photo of something was taken because she highly reminded me of my professor in writing, so similar were they in appearance and dress that I almost called out her name and humilated myself! Thank goodness, doppelganger professor turned my way and oops, there we go, she was a Taiwanese traveller and not my prof. lala!

I loved how The Tulip Festival was beautifully dramatic, I am so inspired right now.

Everything seems so dramatic.

My first ever photo essay project for my basic photography class - and although it's not as good as most, I am very proud of it and very thankful to the people who participated in this project: Arianne Casco, Lauren Lim, Anna Kahayon, Ann Li, Chi Kotur & Nixon Marquez, Gayle Peneranda, Patricia de Leon and Maggie Sham, thank you for letting me shoot you all and made you do weird, funky things. It was great meeting some of you for the first time ever, and I hope I could spend more time with you all and get to know you more, coz you seem to be like awesome people! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PROJECTRIKA IS OFFICIALLY BACK TO LIFE.

It's been a 3 month hiatus and after all the drama, stress and sickness, I think it's about time I restart doing the things I love doing (but have temporarily dropped) - blogging and fashion.

And did I mention I'm back in Tokyo?

Ohmy. I have missed this city wayyy too much. I am so excited to explore, discover funky things, revisit old favorites, take pictures, EVERYTHING.

I had forgotten how beautiful this city was. The weather is slightly annoying - since it's April and it's still freezing, WHY. though I find more reason to wear boots, raid my mother's closet and wear my leather jackets, still... A little less on the chilly breeze would be great. But all the same, I'm so happy to be here.

No, I have not dared to go to an H&M branch yet. I fear the outcome of that trip. I've been viewing their latest Garden Collections and okay, let me just say, that H&M is seriously the only brand that can make me abandon the blacks and grey for the loud&pretty, girly-summery prints. Gah.

Tokyo is amazing and I have yet to explore it still. I'll never get tired of this city. I'm gathering up a bunch of lovely songs for a new TOKYO playlist, the XX is coming here and I definitely wanna go, also planning a little project to do just to keep me busy and working still!

It's late and I gotta jet.

It's magnificent at night, along with everything else surrounding it.

When you're driving through the Rainbow Bridge, you see the city completely lit up before your eyes -- whether it's Christmas or not.
It's so beautiful you'd want to cry -- you have to relish what you see.

we went to watch Avatar (by the way, an extremely stressful-yet-beautiful-and-moving movie) and they were showcasing the latest of Mercedes-Benz by the lobby.
gaah -- it was a sight to see, and such a luxury to be in -- but... haha. Someday, when I grow up.

When Life Gives You Flat Tires..

sometime before Christmas day, we decided to take a trip a wee bit out of the city proper just to do our Christmas groceries. We wanted American products because they were cheap, good and bulky (in terms of quantity). and the only places to get exactly what we wanted was either COSTCO or the Yokota Airbase. the airbase was chosen for this particular mission.
Since I've never, ever been to the Airbase in my entire life here in Japan, I was really ecstatic about going there.
Btw, Yokota Airbase is the Navy Base for American soldiers assigned in Tokyo. They live in that Americanized area with their families, etc. Entrance to this base requires 10million documents and scary checkpoint Japanese guards who know how to speak in English.

Anyway, as it was, we were already running late [orig. plan was to leave at 10AM, be there 12-ish --- we ended up starting on the road 2PM], and then suddenly while driving in the middle of the expressway, my mother pulls over to what we call the "sleeve" of the road and voila. a flat tire.

talk about emergencies.
it was kinda funny though. everyone was on the phone calling different people at the same time -- my mother, the JAF company who was going to save us; tita ruth, someone who could help translate what the JAF person is saying; and me, my father asking him where the hell we were (although he wasn't even there on the scene) so that we could tell the JAF person properly where he can save us.

we didn't know what "flat tire" was in Japanese. it was a funny conversation between my mother and JAF person.

since it was a holiday, they were short on people and it took them quite awhile to get there. While waiting, I decided, 'why not be productive?' and started getting on with a mini-photoshoot. The older women decided it best they try to fix the flat tire on their own til JAF person comes in to rescue us. They didn't know how to fix a flat tire -- none of us knew how. all they were doing was based on instinct and brains and whatever else they had in them.

and hey, they got the job done.
All JAF person needed to do was check if what they did was right or not.

How the tire got flat : some psycho teenage boy slashed our tire in the midst of his boredom.
How long it took JAF person to rescue us : 30 mins to an hour.
What time we reached the Airbase : 5 PM.
amazing. next time, we shouldn't even be allowed to set a time. it never works anyway.

don't ask me why i look like i'm dressed as if it's fall and not winter.
i just didn't want to wear my bulky jacket as my brother took my photo. and oh! although it doesn't appear to be so, there are 10million layers within that outfit.

The shirtdress = very Christopher Kane who I love, therefore I love that dress.

This was actually taken 12.24.09. I find myself making an impromptu trip back to Shibuya.
A new H&M branch has been established there, and my mind had to be put to rest.

Christmas calls for lovely reds, hence the Topshop floral dress + 10million layers of black all over me.

It felt so great to be back in Shibuya. I swear. I almost cried. HAHA.

I shall dub it the best branch among all three here.
God, the artworks, the inscriptions on the walls, the space -- everything about it -- so friggin' inspired! And i desperately wish i could photograph the designs and artworks i saw within, but i feared being scolded about not being allowed to take pictures.

Random Shibuya finds. Amateur photograph-ism here we go. lol.

The huge purple themed Christmas tree is actually located in Ebisu station (I had to take the photo). That man -- yes, that is a man, not a mannequin, although all he does all day is remain still in that one spot -- was located in Shibuya station.

They have new campaign!
I love the Tokyo Metro campaigns I swear about do's and dont's in the train. They are so funky.

Christmas eve was spent in Ropponggi. Sadly, I wasnt able to cook the Christmas feast as I had planned. Mass lasted 3 whole hours, my God. lol.
Looking forward to the NewYear feast.

and although my Christmas eve wasn't as usual -- it was, so to speak, more simple, quieter and more reflective -- I think I pretty much liked this year's eve than last's - a big disaster despite the festivity and traditional whatnots.
all in all a happy night paving in for a happy Christmas day ahead.

Sunday Afternoons at Ginza District.

hi all! as you can see, I am back in Tokyo! Just arrived Saturday. It is freezing cold here and gosh, winter wonderland much? I'm totally loving it so far.

Sunday afternoons call for strolls along the Ginza main district which I have missed doing entirely too much. I was in search for a certain pick mentioned to me by a friend, but unfortunately I wasn't so successful in that mission because I couldn't really find any music store along the main road... that or maybe I was too distracted by ZARA and H&M's towering buildings.

And holy molly, speaking of H&M, I walk in and I thought I would hyperventilate: THE ENTIRE 1st FLOOR WAS ON SALE WITH PRICES RANGING FROM 1000 YEN - 2000 YEN ONLY. EVERYTHING. EVERY-THING FROM SUMMER TO FALL WAS COMPLETELY AFFORDABLE. It's heaven right at the palm of your hands. Example, gorgeous golden dress I have been eying when I was here during the fall which was originally priced at 6,990 yen became 2-effin-thousand. I was devastated that the only sizes left on the racks was 40 - 44 (definitely too big for me) but then, an hour later as I was summing up my pieces, there, in the centre pile was the same golden dress I wanted -- in my size!
God loves me. I swear.
Apart from that lucky moment, I was able to get a bunch awesome pieces! Oh and FYI, there are now 3 branches of H&M here in Tokyo, 1 at Ginza, 1 at Harajuku and a newly opened one at Shibuya!
Each branch caters to different target buyers which means the pieces sold vary according to the specified target buyers. Sale is until JANUARY 10, 2010, with pieces continuously being brought in and changing. Gahh, well I guess the goal was to finish all stocks, and at the rate they're going, they'll probably accomplish that mission with no sweat at all.

God i love H&M.

One Last Hurrah Before The Flight Commences.

12.17.09. Thursday. Might as well call it the last hurrah before the flight commences. Awesome day with the crew, starting at 12noon with lunch at Army Navy, Taft then moving to MOA to wait for the rest. (i just have to say, since the holidays have just begun, thatparticular mall was jam-packed by people.. who are so... out of this world -- it's beyond my explanation. I am evil. i know that).
SPOTTED: a hot, perfectly tanned god + 10 million JJs.

After MOA, we headed off to Music Match, a karaoke place along Macapagal. Awesome, awesome time! Not a shabby place and not that expensive either.
All soul's bared during this karaoke night experience.

People had to leave early and it boiled down to the final 4 to commence a little dinner/drinks session at Pier One. More randomness, vocab lessons, drunken moments (on my part) and soul baring. I ended up in FRIDAY's with my old GreenGiant alumni family after the whole thing, just to sober up. However, it was as if it was Kris who was drunk and not me. Funny.

Such a lovely day full of laughter and friends.

Right. Let me tell you how this all began:

It was Tuesday and Christmas break officially began for the most of us. While walking to the restua where Ria and I intended to lunch at, this conversation strikes up:

Arianne: I want to go to Makati. Right now.
Marika: Okay!
Arianne: Tara!
Marika: Seryoso?
Arianne: Yeah, let's go!

Funny how only a few words can create such wonders. Cyd came, bringing nothing with him and it looked as if he just lived in a nearby condo while in fact, he lives far south.

Train to Makati, while making fun of every grammar mistake we hear along the way. When we reached Greenbelt, weird magic just happened and the result is a bunch of photos from random photoshoots all over the place, tons of laughter, too much barok-ness, someone falling in the bushes, Coffee Bean eavesdropping moments and learning new "vocabs". I swear we could make ads with these photos!

Awesome day, despite not really doing anything at all.

A 'Zombie Apocalypse' Production.

one of the major production we had to do for finals:

a 5-10 minute video production based on a plot chosen by our prof.

CONCEPT: An Adventure plot, starring 2 video-addict boys who have spent the last several weeks locked in their apartment, playing lovely video games. Meanwhile, the world outside has been taken over by ZOMBIES. a series of unforeseen events forces them to get out of their tomb-like state and use their gamer wits to save the world from being run over by zombies.

Basically, it was 2 full weeks of them invading my little apartment and transforming it into a "boy's room". Stress, heat and randomness caused us all to 1. have unforgettable laughs and take absolutely ridiculous photos 2. get sick together and 3. accomplish the mission of completing this project (albeit there were sooo many mistakes during the final output, but hey... lessons learned and it had been fun working on this!)

Innersoul's Dozen Delights [LATE POST].

The hiatus is finally over!!!

I have missed blogging so much, I want to cry. It has been awhile.

Honestly, a lot's been happening. A lot has happened. And ooh, there's still a lot more to come.

And while I'd love to rant on the reasons as to why I've been MIA for this past month, I need to get on with this extremely late post first.

Right. Innersoul's annual concert, this year entitled, "Dozen Delights", re-staged several popular hit songs back during the day, giving us a dose of those unforgettable delights we used to sing to way back when.

In the concert, the younglings of the previous year have grown up and standing their own ground quite well. And while I'm still reminiscent of the batch I had grown to know (who, btw, performed a surprise medley in the middle of the show), the batch now shows unexpected potential and passion for the stage. Translation? I was completely blown over.

I have no idea who the people in Innersoul are now, but by God, they're surprisingly amazing up there. Sadly, I was not able to capture all of them in a good photo (good photo = no heads blocking the picture/within the frame). That was my only regret.

My dearest classmate, Michelle Confesor, the girl who seems so shy and sweet in person, transforms into a completely different person on stage - so much fire and so much energy. I have to say that 1. I didn't know she could sing so well and 2. Seriously, where did all that come from?

Michelle, if you're reading this, you have to understand I am now your fan. You were spectacular. I love you! :)

2nd show I watched that day, this one being at 7PM presenting Sassa Jimenez and her designs.
Spotted A LOT of Lasallians during this particular show.

Again not what I expected -- because this time, the designs were beyond AMAZING --> That word doesn't even cover half of how I feel about the show. Gaahh, if only I could showcase in this blog every single design that walked on that runway... but sadly, I was in such a trance while the show was going on, that it's seriously a miracles I was able to gather all these photos!

I'd buy all her clothes if I could! I'd definitely go to her if I have a design need. Lol.

Philippine Fashion Week Day 5 Part 1

Philippine Fashion Week S/S 2010 Day 5: Oct. 25, 2009 @ the SMX Convention Center
(I know, I know. But better late then never right?)

I actually went to 2 shows that day - the first one being at 5 PM: designs by Chris Diaz and Michelle Lim. This was a back-2-back collaborative show featuring the two designers mentioned.

They're definitely not what I expected, but I'm just as happy and delighted to be able to see Philippine designs LIVE. I feel very inspired (especially after the next show I watched - blog coming soon after this) to begin designing my own line too. And although I already know I can never get on to doing couture, I would definitely love to delve into making awesome RTW for chica-nistas and fashion enthusiasts such as myself. In the near future, hopefully.

Things I was thinking about while watching:
--- Chinese dynasties, oriental decorations (flowers and all), flor-rism (the philosophy of flowers - I just invented that, lol) and gifts wrapped in lovely bow boxes.

Right. About time I got to blogging about this. I was sick so excuse me for the delays.

But here it is, my little wee entry about dearest Kate's debut! Finally the woman is friggin 18 and we have more younglings growing up, nearing 2o. LOL.

*at least it was in the middle of nowhere for most of us who didn't live in the South anymore/at all

This debut was really awesome. I didn't know anyone who attended (except TEAM FAB and Coach Ajjie and Kate herself) but I actually had so much fun! Everybody was just really sweet and funny, it made most of the guests cry! There was that SPARK moment and that was just adorable. Oh and then her brothers were really sweet too.

Kate, you are so very lucky, honey.
You are an inspiration to us all.
And I hope many good things keep on coming your way. And if not, at least you still have amazing people surrounding you.

Coach Ajjie was really awesome too, so very funny and funky and everything lovely under the moon. We did fight over one guy though but it was so useless seeing as the man we're fighting over is already taken so very far away from us. Rawr.
One of the things I discovered that night was that me and Coach Ajjie apparently were in the same shows back when we were in STEPS (this was the 2005 summer concerts of STEPS Dance Studio in CCP, and I was new and everything happening around me was just amazing and miraculous). Since I was new, I didn't really anyone from the Upper/Advance Classes, I just knew their dance was momentous - absolutely unforgettable.
I used to remember referring Coach Ajjie as "The Flying Stunt Man" coz he was just flying and jumping all over the place.

So there. Pleased to me, person who was a part of my childhood.
You are an inspiration too.

And OH! Last thing:

Tonight was the night I fell in love too.

LOL.

I'm kidding okay? Haha.

All in all, amazing debut. Rate: 5 Stars.
